Meet your dentist Dr. Cody Friddle
Dentistry has always been in my blood. After earning my BS in Biology from Baylor University and my dental degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, I practiced alongside my dad in Arkansas for over 12 years before opening Friddle Dental in Alexandria, VA.
With advanced training in cosmetic, orthodontic, TMJ, and implant dentistry—and a Fellowship at the Las Vegas Institute—I built this practice to redefine what "going to the dentist" feels like: stress-free, honest, and genuinely comfortable.

FAQ About General dentistry
What is general dentistry?
General dentistry focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating common dental concerns that affect your teeth, gums, and overall oral health. This includes routine exams, professional cleanings, X-rays, fillings, gum disease screenings, dental crowns, root canal treatment, and other services that help maintain a healthy smile.
How often should I visit a general dentist?
Most patients should visit a general dentist every six months for a dental exam and cleaning. These routine visits help remove plaque buildup, detect cavities early, monitor gum health, and prevent small dental problems from becoming more serious or expensive to treat.
What services are included in general dentistry?
General dentistry may include dental exams, teeth cleanings, digital X-rays, tooth-colored fillings, fluoride treatment, dental sealants, gum disease treatment, crowns, bridges, dentures, root canals, and preventive care. The goal is to protect your oral health and restore your smile when needed.
Why are routine dental cleanings important?
Routine dental cleanings help remove plaque, tartar, and bacteria that brushing and flossing cannot fully eliminate at home. Cleanings also help reduce the risk of cavities, gum disease, bad breath, and tooth loss while giving your dentist a chance to catch early signs of dental problems.
When should I schedule a general dentistry appointment?
You should schedule a general dentistry appointment if you are due for a routine checkup, have tooth pain, notice bleeding gums, experience sensitivity, have a chipped tooth, or want to improve your oral health. Regular dental visits are one of the best ways to keep your smile healthy long-term.
